The Historic Carter House Society Inc. (HCHS) is sponsoring a drive to collect school supplies for the Head Start School that is located just outside the entrance to Carter Plantation. The school is in need of all types of supplies but the basic supplies they requested are the following:
- Crayons
- Construction Paper
- Glue
- Pens
- Pencils
- Scissors
When the Dollar General Store in Springfield was contacted they were very agreeable to help and we already have a box setup in their store. Several of the items on the list are on sale this week. This box will be out until next Thursday afternoon, August 4.
There will be a box setup this afternoon in the Carter Plantation Pavilion outside the Pro Shop for your convenience. For the golfers, you can drop your supplies in just before your golf game. This box will be out through all of next week.
If we find additional locations for boxes we will let you know as soon as they are setup.
Please help support this drive that will help the children as well as the teachers. After all, the children are our future!
