The Historic Carter House Society Inc. (HCHS) is holding a Silent Auction Fundraiser on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carter House, 30325 Carter Cemetery Road, Springfield, LA.
The public is invited and ticket prices are as follows:
$23.00 per person for Non-HCHS Members if purchased early $25.00 per person for Non-HCHS Members if purchased at the door $18.00 per person for HCHS Members
This event is being held to raise funds to make repairs to damages caused by the August 2016 Flood at the Carter House properties. HCHS a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization and through donations, fundraisers, memberships, and grants significant progress had been made with the restoration only to be set back by the flood damages.
The Carter House is the only plantation in Livingston Parish and is located in Carter Plantation, Springfield, LA. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and significant in African- American history, built between 1817 and 1820 by Thomas Freeman, a free man of color.
If you would like to become a member of HCHS you can find information about membership on the website under the category HCHS Memberships & Donations. If anyone would like to join before the November 12 fundraiser they will be entitled to purchasing a ticket at the HCHS Members price.

All tickets will be entered into a drawing for a door prize at the end of the evening. There will be a number of silent auction items so come prepared to bid and only cash or checks can be accepted. Food, wine, and beer will be served. If you would like to make a donation, please give us a call.
