Carter Open House Christmas 2025

The public is invited to Christmas Open House at the Historic Carter House on Sunday, Dec. 14, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This event is hosted by members of the Historic Carter House Society Inc. (HCHS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Tours will be given so guests will learn some of the history of the plantation. For example, did you know the Carter House is the only true plantation in Livingston Parish?

Santa Clause will be there to hear the children’s Christmas wishes and Parents (and Grand Parents) are invited to take pictures.  Before our guests leave they are invited to enjoy refreshments in the dining room. Tickets will be sold at the door and cost $5.00 for adults, with children under the age of 12 admitted free.  And, HCHS members are admitted free. Each entrance ticket will be entered in a drawing for a door prize.

We have a very large basket filled with all kinds of goodies plus two bottles of wine being raffled and you can purchase tickets even if you don’t come to the open house, just contact Vickie Robinson at 504-638-0068. Tickets for the raffle are $5.00/each or 3/$12.00 which is a much better bargain.

All proceeds from the open house go toward restoration work to the Carter House.  If any of our members are available to volunteer at the open house, please contact Vickie at 504-638-0068. Your time would be appreciated!
