From Baton Rouge:
From I-12 take the Albany/Springfield Exit to Springfield. When you reach the red light in Springfield continue straight through the red light and turn right at the second street on right, this will be Carter Cemetery Road (by the Baptist Church). Continue straight and you will come to the Carter Plantation entrance. Once you go through the entrance rather than following the road where it makes a sweeping left turn, take the road that turns right, and follow it to the end where you will see the Carter House straight ahead.
From Hammond: From I-55 take the Ponchatoula/Springfield Exit to Springfield. When you reach the red light in Springfield turn left. After you make the left turn go to the second street on right and turn right, this will be Carter Cemetery Road (by the Baptist Church). Continue straight and you will come to the Carter Plantation entrance. Once you go through the entrance rather than following the road where it makes a sweeping left turn, take the road that turns right, and follow it to the end where you will see the Carter House straight ahead.
